Is er iemand al eens naar Neverland van Michael Jackson geweest? Is het de moeite waard om naar toe te rijden. Ik heb ergens gelezen dat het schuin boven Santa Barbara ligt bij het plaatsje Los Olivos!

Heeft iemand hier ervaring mee?

Michael Jackson has secretly sold his Neverland Ranch for $35 million, The National Enquirer can reveal. The scandal-plagued superstar is so wracked by financial troubles he can no longer afford to keep his trademark fantasy estate in Los Olivos, near Santa Barbara, California.

We have learned exclusively that Jackson, 46, has accepted an offer from a mystery buyer and the property has gone into escrow. If there are no hitches with the sale, the embattled singer will be out of the home he has owned since 1988 in less than 90 days.

Sources say Jackson still has a $16 million mortgage on the property -- where the alleged child abuse at the center of his court case is said to have taken place. The alleged molestation of a 13-year-old boy is said to have happened in Jackson's bedroom at the mansion. Sources say Jacko is pouring so much of his resources into his legal case he needed to sell Neverland, which is thought to cost about $3 million a year to maintain.

"It hasn't felt like his home since the police raided," said a source. "When the trial is over he will move out the same day, one way or the other. He will never live there again."

Alles wat ik erover vind is, dat het prive terrein is. National Enquirer kan al helemaal niet geloofd worden. Maar ik heb nog nooit gehoord of gelezen, dat Neverland Ranch open is voor publiek, behalve genodigden van Jackson. Maar ik kan het mis hebben (hoewel er dan toch wel een website met informatie te vinden zou zijn, lijkt me).

Ik weet het niet zeker, maar toen wij vorige maand in LA waren, hoorde ik een man tegen een ander stel vertellen wat hij allemaal al had bezocht, en toen noemde hij ook Neverland, dit stel vroeg toen hoe dat was, en hij zij dat dat erg leuk was???

Ik hoorde het hem wel vertellen, maar dacht niet meteen aan het Neverland van Michael Jackson, totdat het tot me door drong dat dat inderdaad ook hier in de buurt moest zijn.

Nu ik jou mailtje dus lees, denk ik toch dat hij dit bedoelde. Waarschijnlijk is het dan toch te bezoeken, maar ik heb het alleen van horen dussssss????

Speculation was rampant about the fate of Neverland, but on March 16, 2006, the ranch was officially closed and most of the employees were terminated without benefits or pensions (though approximately $400,000 in back wages were paid). It was announced that Jackson would not be returning to the United States in the foreseeable future. According to his spokesperson, Raymone Bain, Jackson closed his house and reduced his work force.
