Die late kant valt wel mee hoor, wij hadden op 17 februari (bij Senator Bill Nelson) een tour aangevraagd voor 7 mei en op 19 april kregen we de mail dat we 'approved' waren. Dit was de mail di we ontvingen

Ik heb vanavond ook senator Gillibrand gecontact dmv het formulier op haar website. bedenk me nu, dat ik geen data heb vermeld (alleen 'i'n october), heel dom dus! Maar goed, maar even afwachten of ze reageert, neem aan, dat als ze reageert, ze wel zal vragen naar een bepaalde datum.

Everyone: Please stop contacting me looking for White House tours. I am no longer the tour coordinator in my office. Furthermore, this office cannot accommodate the entire Netherlands. If you would like a tour, you must contact the Dutch embassy. If you have problems with the way they handle tours, you must take it up with them. I am ANGRY that my full name and apparently my work email have been posted on the internet. That is a terrible way to thank me for my help. If anyone who reads this or uses this page has posted my name and contact information on any sites, I would hope you have the decency to remove it.

Vraagje: we moeten ons melden aan de Southeast gate on 15th and E streets NW of the White House. Is dat bij het visitorscentrum van het white house, of moet je je ergens anders melden? Ze hebben het over het Noordwesten, maar ik denk dat die hoek het zuidoosten is, of begrijp ik het dan niet goed. Wie is er geweest en kan het me uitleggen?
Als we dan parkeren bij het Ronald Reagan gebouw, zoals Petra eerder heeft uitgelegd zitten we toch vlakbij?
Ja, inderdaad. Volgens mij (want ik heb daar groepen naar binnen zien gaan, maar houd me er niet aan) is het aan de kant van Pennsylvania Avenue, waar jullie garage dan ook is. Dus aan de kant van het Washington Monument van het Witte Huis.

Als het goed is heb je een plattegrond bij je bevestiging gekregen en daar staat het in. Heb het nog even nagekeken en hier moet je je melden:
Groups should enter the White House complex from the south side of East Executive Avenue near the Southeast Gate. Uniformed National Park Service Rangers are posted at the corner of 15th and E Streets to assist groups as they arrive. Limited bus parking is available on 15th Street across from the Department of Commerce. Please check posted street signs for parking restrictions.
De reden, dat ze het over het noordwesten hebben, is dat alle adressen in dat kwadraat van de stad in NW eindigen, aangezien het het noordwestelijke gedeelte van de stad is. Naar Helena's beschrijving kijkend is het inderdaad precies, waar ik dacht.
