RV Dockweiler beach LA

TL Rating 5.0 / 7.5 / 5.0
7.5 / 8.5 / 7 from Anonymous (San Diego, CA)
Good proximity to the beach, which we love. But all those planes flying out of LAX make sleeping pretty difficult.
8.9 / 7.1 / 9.3 from Abe Low (Sacramento, CA)
Right on the beach. If the wind is blowing from the wrong direction you can smell the nearby sewage treatment plant. Lets face it there aren't many places to stay on the beach in the L.A. area.
Uit RV Park reviews:
This site is a great alternative around los angeles. It is a simple and plain park but is right on the beach. They just renovated the whole thing and they are still not very organized but you can't beat the price. It sits right on a great bike and jogging path. Small laundry room though if you need one. Very small doggy walk. Overall it is much better than the malibu rv park. Very close to the highway to los angeles. We camped here in a Motorhome in June 2005.

Malibu Beach RV Park (duur!)
TL Rating 7.5 / 8.5 / 8.0
Location and view are the highlights of this park. Sites are close together, but you can open awning. Some sites are cliffside with nice view of ocean. You can walk downhill to get to the beach. There's a tunnel under PCH so you can cross safely. Access roads are narrow, requiring sharp turns when backing in. We would stay again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer in 2003.

Wow, what can I say about the view? Incredible!! We had pre-selected a site on the hill directly overlooking the ocean. I really hated to give this park a 7, but did due to the muddy condition we encountered when it rained while we were there. There is no gravel and only bare ground that turns into a real mess when it rains. The full time residents have grass carpet over the ground to keep the mess down. Go in the dry season and you will be fine. I will say though, we will be return visitors the next time business takes us to the 'left' coast. We camped here in a Motorhome in 2004.

I did not like this campground. Very expensive for the horrible sites. The lots are so inclined and small that your jacks cannot level the rig and the nose of the rv sticks out on the road. Do yourelf a favor and go to the dockweiler renovated rv park in playa del rey. Maliibu has no beach but dockwieler sits right on the beach and is half the price. I felt robbed at the malibu park. We camped here in a Motorhome in June 2005.

Amazing views and great trails for the pets and kids. You can hear the ocean. The WiFi connection is too unstable to even say they offer it. The staff is very nice. We will definately return again and again. We camped here in a Travel Trailer in July 2005.

Very expensive for what was on offer, though the view and staff were good. We were parked between 2 permanent residents, though one was friendly and nice. Compared to the other sites we had visited this was a disappointment. We camped here in a Motorhome in August 2005.

This park is the only one in Malibu and commands a hefty rate as well as a spectacular view of the ocean. Campsites are narrow and your neighbor could become your best friend if you're not careful. There are no pull-thru's and backing into some cliff-side sites is scary! Wi-Fi access is sporatic. The managers are efficient and cordial. When we were there the hot water was on again-off again for the showers, but the management tried to get it right. Overall it was a good experience. We camped here in a Motorhome in July 2005.

Rude rude rude people in the office. Told office I'd reserved mtn. w/e site, but was on a ocean w/e. After disappearing into the small office for 10 minutes I was told I was "lucky it was their fault" and given a credit for the extra $10/night I'd paid. I was lucky???? Then the internet NEVER worked at my site (V-13). When I asked if it was working, the lady said, "well it's working for me". I said "it hasn't worked for me in the 5 days I've been here unless I walk down the hill to the sheltered picnic tables". To which I got, "well I guess that's what you'll have to do then". View was great and access is easy, but you can't turn south out of the park (we did anyway) and the place is pricey. I won't stay here again. Should have asked for a partial refund since I was essentially paying for internet that I didn't have. We camped here in a Motorhome in November 2005.

This is a rustic campground. Sites vary in size. The view is nice. Access to Seafood restaurant is easy, even saw a few actors. Wireless internet worked well. Check in was easy. We will return. We camped here in a Motorhome in January 2006.

Groetjes,
Monique

Groetjes,
Monique
