Today, on April 20th, 2012, I officially became a citizen of the United States of America! Yesterday I had the interview, which was much easier and faster than I thought it would be. And today was the Nationalization Oath Ceremony. I also had the honor to stand next to a young gentleman in uniform. He was born in Nigeria, and joined the United States Army to fight for and serve the United States of America. Today he also became a United States Citizen. His speech was touching. From the heart and in his voice you knew how hard he had to fight for his freedom, and how thankful he is to be here and to become a US Citizen. It was emotional, especially since my husband was able to be here for this occasion on his leave from deployment, to share this with. But it is such incredible experience and honor to become an American!
En het beste was toch echt dat mijn man zijn verlof vanuit Afghanistan viel rond de interview datum (gister) en de ceremonie (vandaag!) Ik was ook heel emotioneel! Wat foto's
