Vanaf 2026 wordt er een bedrag van $ 250 extra gerekend voor een tijdelijk visum dankzij de ‘One Big Beautiful Bill'.
Dit bedrag komt dus bovenop de huidige $ 185.
Als je je gedraagt volgens de voorwaarden van het visum zou je die kosten terug kunnen krijgen:

The bill states that U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem “may provide a reimbursement to an alien of the fee required ... if such alien demonstrates that he or she ... complied with all conditions of such nonimmigrant visa.” The conditions listed include not accepting employment while in the U.S.; not extending the length the stay; or being granted an extension of stay. But the text of the bill does not spell out how onerous the reimbursement process will be for a tourist wishing to reclaim the $250 fee.
