J1 visum met meerdere locaties

Goedenavond,

Ik ben momenteel student aan een Nederlandse universiteit, en wil graag een universitaire stage van 5 weken doen naar UC Davis (wie mij dan zouden sponsoren voor een J1 visum). Daarna kan ik aansluitend voor een periode van 10-12 weken naar University of Florida voor een masterscriptie. Mijn vraag is: is het mogelijk om naar de University of Florida te gaan met een J1 visum welke gesponsord is door UC Davis?

Your current Exchange Visitor Visa is ONLY applicable for your current exchange program and under your current program sponsor. Upon completion of your current Exchange Visitor Program, you are expected to depart the United States.

If you intend to pursue a 2nd exchange program (in a different category and with a different sponsor), you will need to apply for a new Exchange Visitor Visa for your new exchange program and new sponsor – in order to reenter the U.S. for the 2nd program.

Maar ik lees ook bij verschillende universiteiten dat het soms mogelijk is, b.v. bij UC Santa Barbara staat:

J-1 Transfers
J-1 exchange visitors may transfer from one J-1 program sponsoring institution to another if the following requirements can be met:

Your current DS-2019 form has not expired.
The purpose of the transfer is to complete your initial academic objective and you remain within the same subject field category on your original DS-2019 form.
The transfer will not exceed your stay in the U.S. beyond the permissible time for your current J-1 category.
-Research Scholar or Professor – 5 years
-Short-Term Scholar – 6 months
-Student Intern – 12 months
J-1 exchange visitors planning to transfer IN or OUT of the University of California, Santa Barbara must request the transfer no later than 30 days before the desired transfer date.

IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are subject to the J-1 212(E) Two-Year Home Country Physical Presence requirement and have requested, or have been granted the J-1 Waiver, you may not be eligible for a J-1 Transfer.

Er zijn verschillende soorten J-1 visa, met verschillende regels. Dus je zal aan UC Davis moeten vragen of het in jouw specifieke geval mogelijk is.
